Last game you played? Finally got around to playing Raft! I’ve been having a blast floating around on the ocean (and avoiding Bruce).
What activity that most others see as a task or chore, is something that you actually enjoy? Repotting my plants continuously.

What’s something you’ve done, written, or helped create that you’re proud of? Together with a bunch of other academics, we’ve experienced (and helped to create) a great conference for DiGRA 2025. There were so many amazing presentations, and I had a lot of interesting conversations. Additionally, I got to present on the game Legionnaire. If you’re curious, you can find more information here!
Where’s your favorite place you’ve lived or visited? Difficult question! I’ll forego the expected answer and instead say that I really liked my visits to Prague!
What gadget would you like to try or already have and can recommend? I recently got an instant camera! Great fun to have the instant pictures and create a small collection book.
Where and when are you most productive? Probably when there is a deadline almost coming up or when I’m trying to avoid work by doing other work.
What’s something you used to be good at but can’t do now? Resisting the Steam sales. I need games for work now, right?

Hello! My name is Corine Gerritsen and I am responsible for the subproject ‘Mechanics’ in the project of Playful Time machines. I got both my BA degree in history and my RMA in Ancient Studies at Utrecht University. I started focusing on the past in video games during my internship at VALUE, and the topic stuck.
